Overview

WHAT’S INVOLVED:

The LIGHT programs vary in length and are designed to equip today’s youth with the skills and abilities to share tomorrow’s hope with others. Participants will have many opportunities in a variety of leadership experiences and will be challenged in all areas of their lives. All three levels of the program consist of the following components: leadership training; service; and camp ministry. Upon completion of all three phases of the program, a reference letter will be written for future employers and a certificate will be presented.

WHY SHOULD YOU SIGN UP?

  • you will BE AT CAMP (the best place to be in the summer)
  • you will be challenged spiritually
  • you will develop leadership skills which will benefit you forever
  • you will gain courage to share the gospel with others
  • you will build lifelong friendships
  • you will learn first hand from the experience of camp leaders

REQUIREMENTS

  • spiritual- the desire to grow spiritually and serve Christ.
  • attitude – motivated to learn, improve and cooperate with others.
  • physical- stamina to cope with camp program and perform at your best.
  • age:
    • LIGHT 1: going into Grade 10 or older
    • LIGHT 2: going into Grade 11 or older
    • LIGHT 3: going into Grade 12 or older
  • program- to be accepted into the next level, you must have completed the level before (special exceptions are sometimes made at the discretion of the LIGHT Director)

Complete the application form in full and mail it with your program fee:

Deadline for applications: March 31st (if it is past March 31st, please contact the office at 250-295-6233 to find out if there is still room in the program before sending in your application)

We do not accept faxed applications.

Once your references have been contacted and your application is reviewed you will receive a phone call.

There is a limited number of openings in each program, therefore you are not guaranteed the date choice you have checked off. If you have concerns about this please call the office or attach a note with your application form.

All applicants are required to attend a long weekend training session prior to the summer.

COST

Cost: LIGHT 1 $375
LIGHT 2 and 3 $265

As part of the program, each participant will receive a program binder and t-shirt.
